I have a Bachelors of Music Education from Southern Methodist University.  While at SMU, I performed in the Wind Ensemble, Mustang Band, and the jazz band.  Some of the more meaningful teachers I had were Howard Dunn, Bob Brandenberger, Jack Delaney, and Scott Plugge.

This is my 28th year to teach (26th in Irving)—I did teach at Austin Middle School.  My first years to teach were at Rockport-Fulton High School and Middle School (the beach was practically across the street).

I have performed with many ensembles in the Dallas area.  I mostly played alto saxophone and baritone saxophone with Crosswinds, Joshua, the Frisco Jazz Band, the Frisco Community Band, and Metropolitan Winds.  These bands gave me opportunities to perform all over Texas, including the Meyerson Symphony Center in Dallas and Bass Hall in Ft. Worth.

I have a wife, 3 kids and 2 dogs.  The kids are ages 15, 10, and 8—We love to take family vacations and camp, and I attend all of their concerts, baseball, basketball, volleyball, softball, cheerleading…I’m tired.
